BIO – Theresa Lang

Theresa Lang is the daughter of Rev. Robert & Margaret McLaughlin, an Atlanta native and the 3^rd child of 6 children.  Theresa developed her musical craft and her love for singing gospel music at an early age while singing with her family during church programs,  choir or just around the house with family members.   “As a child, my father would always say to me, “Girl you got a big mouth,” (lolol).   She is an accomplished songwriter, producer and Praise & Worship Leader at her home church, Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Lilburn, Ga. where Dr. Richard B, Haynes is Senior Pastor.  She has always been encouraged to sing for the Lord bringing Glory to the name of Jesus Christ.  She was inspired not only by her husband (Rick) to pursue her gospel career but by both her children Brandon and Bryana, church members and her brother Courtney who is the Music Producer of her new CD release, “Walking With  God.” 

Her voice has been noted as strong, powerful, piercing, yet sweet with the humming sounds of a songbird.  With the release of her first CD – Walking With God, Theresa contributes this title release as inspiration through walking through her past personal trials into the arms of God who provides her with peace beyond belief.  Theresa notes that she is committed to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through a message of encouragement, hope and salvation.   With her impeccable vocal range, the songstress mixes her powerful voice with an extraordinary talent of producers and songwriters to produce a highly anticipated gospel album.  This project brings together a strong production team of professionals who happens to be all in the family to include  Courtney McLaughlin (brother),  Brandon Lyons ( son) and Bryana  Lyons (daughter).  “We have all worked so very hard to produce this album and we hope and pray that millions and millions of fans are touched, inspired and encouraged through our musical sounds.” 

The vocal harmonies, intricate vocal ranges,  a splash of R&B along with a taste of traditional gospel music helps define TLang. “Working with my family on my freshman cd was an experience of a lifetime, my dream come true to produce beautiful inspiring gospel music with my  family.  The lesson I’ve learned through this trying time in my life is that God will never leave you nor forsake you, he is always there with you even when he seems so far away.  God gave me the opportunity to write through my personal pain and there I realized this pain is a testimony for others to know that no matter what type of personal pain you are experiencing, You Can Make It as long as you are Walking With God.  I am so grateful to God for giving me this job of spreading the good news through gospel music and receiving brand new mercies everyday giving us the opportunity to start over again.

TLang will release her hit single”You Can Make It” written by both she and her son and produced by her brother in April 2012 to radio and online music outlets.  You will hear a bit of traditional sounds mixed with a taste of R&B with songs like “Glory Honor & Praise” to include dynamic vocal harmonies. Additionally, expect to hear sounds of “Krazy Faith” which will bring excitement to your souls giving you hope that will make you want to shout and dance.  This is a powerful CD that you will want to keep as a collector’s item.  Expect to see more from TLang in the near future.   She recorded all of her background vocals executed with efficiency and flawless delivery. 

“Invitation To Discipleship”…well need we say more, it will introduce the lost and unsaved into a world of complete eternal life through the salvation of Jesus Christ. “ Holy Father” provides up-tempo sounds that reflect the versatility of TLang as a vocalist, while we enter into the world of pop vocal sounds coupled with theatrical vocal range to the listening ear of” I Simply Trust Him”.  “Taken Through  BUT not Taken Out” will pull at your heart strings of Lamentations, but it will encourage you to go on in the name of Jesus Christ.  “He Is My Joy” reminds us that, weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.   You will feel a sense of peace and tranquility while listening to her title CD,” Walking With God.”  This is a great tune to travel with in your cd player or just simply walking in the park on a bright sunny day, it is guaranteed to relax your mind and put your mind at ease.

TLang has performed alongside some of gospel greats such as Kim Burrell, Byon Cage, Sabbatical, Norman Hutchins and the Chester Mass Choir. As a child, you could hear sounds of The Clark Sisters, Shirley Caesar, Walter Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Daryl Coley, the Mighty Clouds of Joy, Commissioned and the Winans around her home. She contributes these artists along with her parents and siblings to her gospel roots and her influence to sing gospel music. TLang is very excited about touring and encouraging her fans to develop a spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ for the saved and unsaved.
